Earthquakes...the big Monster

Tuesday the 12th of january 2010, turned to be a catastrophic event for the people of Haiti. The quake measuring 7.0 magnitude on richter scale hit the city of Léogâne. But this wasn't just enough for the natural calamity to settle down its fire. By 24 January, at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater had been recorded. As of Feb. 12, an estimated three million people were affected by the quake; the Haitian Government reports that between 217,000 and 230,000 people had been identified as dead, an estimated 300,000 injured, and an estimated 1,000,000 homeless. The death toll is expected to rise. They also estimated that 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed or were severely damaged.

The world was deeply mourning for loss of life and property that another another one was lifting its head. On Feburuary 27, 2010 the coast of Maule region of chile was hit by another monster of 8.8 magnitude and lasting for about 3 minutes. In total there were 723 carnages but the figure did not included the missing one. This was an massive quake and the rescuers did a good job to help the victims.

Until today, i thought that peace has once again enveloped the earth but was shocked to hear that this time it was turkey's turn!
Now slightly less massive measuring 6.0 magnitude devastated the okcular village in Elagiz province which officially took 51 lives.

So how long is this quake era gonna last? Are we done with it or there is one more waiting on our door. Sometimes i feels that doomsday is very near so we the people have to stop hurting our mother earth or else we have to bear with plenty of such demons. I request all the people including me to add step in nurturing the beauty of our mother earth...
